Editor's Note
2020 has been a year to remember, and a year to forget. A virus disrupted the lives and businesses of many around the world and for students, "campus life" meant meeting up with your friends or project mates via Zoom or Google Hangout. The prolonged absence of physical social interaction can be a struggle for some, I'm sure.
I for one loved seeing the back of 2020. Juggling the demands of work, life, as well as the tantrums of my five-year old every day of the week at home weren't fun at all. With the vaccine coming to the masses and some degree of normalcy coming back to our lives, I think that 2021 is looking really good.
For those of you who are considering scholarships this year, the timing could not have been better. If everything goes according to plan, by the time you graduate from university, the economy should have consolidated and your role with the sponsoring organisation would be even more exciting with new opportunities as well as exciting developments.
If anything the pandemic illustrates the merits of accepting a scholarship. Apart from the obvious financial benefits, a scholarship also guarantees you a place in the organisation (for bonded scholarships). Earning a steady income with a path paved for you for greater accomplishments will always be a good thing in anyone's books.
And if you are still exploring scholarship options, be sure to sign up for the BrightSparks Virtual Fair 2021. We've gathered some of the most sought-after organisations under one proverbial roof. Just like the inaugural edition in 2020, you can get insights from recruitment officers and attend exclusive webinars to understand more about the sponsoring organisations.
"See" you there!
